Assam Rifles Tradesman Recruitment 2026: The Directorate General Assam Rifles (DGAR), Shillong, has released an official notification for the Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 to recruit Rifleman, Havildar, and Warrant Officer posts (Group ‘C’) in 17 different trades. The vacancies are open to male candidates only on an all-India basis.
Candidates who have completed their 10th / 12th with ITI or Diploma in the relevant trade and are aged 18 to 23 years (18 to 25 years for Warrant Officer posts) are eligible to apply for these posts. Selection will be through an RFID-based Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), document verification, Computer-Based Test (CBT), trade skill test and medical examination. Selection Process
● Physical Standard Test (PST) – RFID-based; minimum height 170 cm for male (165 cm for Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Assam, NE states, Himachal Pradesh, J&K/Ladakh; 162.5 cm for ST), chest 80–85 cm (relaxed for these categories)
● Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – RFID-based; 5 km run within 24 minutes (Ladakh region: 1.6 km within 7 minutes)
● Document Verification
● Computer Based Test (CBT) – 100 marks; minimum pass marks 35% for General/EWS and 33% for SC/ST/OBC
● Trade Skill Test – computer & practical skill test (qualifying, no marks); candidates shortlisted in 1:4 ratio based on CBT merit
● Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME)
● Merit List – final selection trade-wise and category-wise as per vacancies
