Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Canara Bank, a leading Public Sector Bank headquartered in Bengaluru, has released an official notification for the engagement of Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27. There are 3500 training seats across India, including 391 seats in Tamil Nadu.
Candidates who have completed a Degree in any discipline (passed between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026) and are aged 20 to 28 years are eligible to apply. Selection will be through a state-wise merit list based on 12th/Diploma marks, followed by document verification, a local language test and medical fitness. Eligibility Criteria:
Graduate Apprentice
Educational Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline . Graduation must have been passed between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026 (both days inclusive). Candidates must also have at least 60% marks in 12th Std (HSC/10+2)/Diploma (55% for SC/ST/PwBD). Candidates who have already undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training, or who have one year or more of job/training experience after graduation, are not eligible. Local language Knowledge of the opted State is required.
Age Limit: 20 to 28 years as on 01.09.2026, i.e. candidates must have been born between 02.09.1998 and 01.09.2006 (both days inclusive).
Age Relaxation:
● SC/ ST: +5 years
● OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
● PwBD (Gen/ EWS): +10 years
● PwBD (SC/ ST): +15 years
● PwBD (OBC): +13 years
● Widows, divorced women and women legally separated (not remarried): up to 35 years (Gen/ EWS), 38 years (OBC) and 40 years (SC/ ST)
Salary Details:
Graduate Apprentice – Rs. 16,650/- per month (stipend) for the 12-month training period (Rs. 10,500 paid by Canara Bank + Rs. 6,150 Govt. of India share credited directly through DBT; no other allowances)
Selection Process
● Merit List – prepared State-wise on the basis of marks/percentage obtained in 12th Std (HSC/10+2)/Diploma; minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD), with no rounding off. Candidates with equal percentage are ranked by age (older first).
● Document Verification & Local Language Test – the language test is not required for candidates whose 10th or 12th mark sheet shows they studied the opted local language.
● Medical Fitness – engagement is subject to being declared medically fit as per the Bank’s requirement.
