PCI ASO Recruitment 2026: The Press Council of India (PCI), New Delhi, has released an official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) posts (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted) at Pay Level 6. There are 3 vacancies.

Vacancy Details:
1. Assistant Section Officer (ASO) – 3 (UR – 2, OBC – 1)
Eligibility Criteria:
Assistant Section Officer (ASO)
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University/Institute. Preferred/Desirable: Post Graduate degree, or Degree in Law, or Degree/Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication, or knowledge of an additional Indian language apart from English/Hindi. Selected candidates must also pass a computer typing test (30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi) within two years of appointment.
Age Limit: 20 to 30 years (as on the last date of application). Candidates issued Admit Cards for the examination held on 04.05.2025 are exempt from the upper age limit.

● PwBD (Gen/ EWS): +10 years

Salary Details:

Selection Process
● Tier-I – Objective Type Examination (200 Questions, 200 Marks, 150 Minutes, 0.25 negative marking; final merit list is based on Tier-I marks)
● Tier-II – Descriptive Type Examination (100 Marks, 60 Minutes, Qualifying Nature)
