Age Limit & Relaxations
All age calculations are as on 1st April 2026. The following relaxations apply:
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
- OBC-NCL candidates: 3 years relaxation in upper age limit.
- PwBD candidates: 10 years relaxation in upper age limit.
- Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation (subject to minimum 5 years of service in Armed Forces).
- Cumulative relaxation for multiple categories is capped at a maximum of 10 years in all cases.
- Maximum age post all relaxations: 55 years (for senior BPRL, Finance, and Head Sales roles).
Pay Scale & Emoluments
Selected candidates will be placed in appropriate DPE grades based on their qualifications, experience, and performance in the selection process. The approximate CTC at the minimum of each pay scale (for metro city postings) is as follows:

Selection Process / Methodology
BPCL follows a multi-stage selection process depending on the number of applications received for each profile:
- Stage 1 – Application Screening: Based on educational qualification, years of relevant work experience, and uploaded documents.
- Stage 2 – Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type; comprising (a) General Aptitude – Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and (b) Professional Knowledge – discipline-specific questions.
- Stage 3 – Case Based Discussion and/or Group Task (for shortlisted candidates).
- Stage 4 – Personal Interview: Document verification is conducted before the interview.
- Final Selection: Based on work experience, on-the-job achievements, and overall performance across all stages.
