Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS) has released an official notification (Advertisement No.: NPCIL/MAPS/HRM/APPRENTICESHIP/2026/01) for the engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act-1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1991. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Trade Apprentice: Candidates must possess a full-time/regular ITI Pass Certificate in the respective Trade.
- Diploma Apprentice: Candidates must hold a full-time/regular Diploma Pass Certificate in engineering or technology
- Graduate Apprentice: Candidates must have a full-time/regular Graduate Degree in non-engineering streams or general streams such as BA, B.Sc., B.Com., etc., granted by a College/University Recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Government/Central Government.
Age Limit (as on 30/06/2026):
- Trade Apprentice: Minimum age 18 years and maximum 24 years.
- Diploma Apprentice: Minimum age 18 years and maximum 25 years.
- Graduate Apprentice: Minimum age 21 years and maximum 28 years.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: Relaxation in maximum age up to 5 years.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: Relaxation in maximum age up to 3 years.
- PwBD Category Candidates: Relaxation in maximum age up to 10 years.
Physical Fitness Standards:
- Height: 137 cms and above.
- Weight: 25.4 Kg and above.
- Chest expansion: 3.8 cms.
- The candidate should be free from any contagious or infectious diseases and active or healed tuberculosis. Engagement is subject to being declared medically fit by the Competent Authority.
Stipend Details
- Trade Apprentice: ₹9,600/- per month for those engaged after a one-year ITI course, and ₹10,560/- per month for those engaged after a two-year ITI course.
- Diploma Apprentice: ₹10,900/- per month.
- Graduate Apprentice: ₹12,300/- per month.
Selection Process
- Merit-Based: The selection of candidates for training will be based on the marks obtained in their respective ITI, Diploma, or Graduation courses.
- Local Preference: Preference will be given to applicants belonging to neighbouring villages within a 16 km radius around the Plant Site.
- Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie in percentage, the older candidate will be preferred. If the dates of birth match, candidates with higher matriculation percentages will be ranked higher.

Step 1: Mandatory Registration
- Trade Apprentices must register themselves as candidates on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme 2.0 (NAPS 2.0) portal at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
- Graduate and Diploma Apprentices must register themselves at the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme 2.0 (NATS 2.0) portal at https://www.nats.education.gov.in
Step 2: Form Download and Submission
- Candidates meeting the criteria can download the application form from www.npcil.nic.in under HR Management / Opportunities.
- Fill out the application form completely, affix a recent passport-size photograph, and attach self-attested copies of all necessary documents.
- Documents required include proof of Date of Birth, 10th/12th/ITI/Diploma/Degree mark sheets and certificates, a valid caste certificate, EWS certificate, Disability Certificate (if applicable), Police Verification Certificate, Character/Conduct Certificate, Aadhaar Card, 4 recent passport photos, and residential proof if living within a 16 km radius.
