Eligibility Criteria:
The educational qualifications for the Group ‘C’ civilian posts at the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, vary by position:
- Lower Division Clerk: Must have passed 12th Class from a recognized Board or University.
- Civilian Motor Driver (Ordinary Grade): Requires a 12th Class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Office and Training): Must have a Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognized Board/Institute.
- Stenographer Grade II: Requires a 12th Class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- Supervisor (Networking): Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, or a Master’s Degree in Computer Application, Computer Science, or Information Technology from a recognized University or Institute.
- Network Administrator: Must have a 12th Class pass from a recognized Board along with a Diploma in Networking or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application.
- Hardware Administrator: Requires a 12th Class pass from a recognized Board with an Advanced Diploma in Computer Hardware or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application.
- Lineman: Must have passed 12th Class from a recognized Board and hold a Diploma in Optical Fiber Cable Line Management.
- Boat Builder: Requires a 12th Class pass from a recognized Board.
- Technical Attendant (Printing Machine Operator): Requires an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Pass Certificate in Printing Machine Operator from a recognized institute, or a Matriculation pass/equivalent with at least one year of experience as a Printing Machine Operator.
Age Limit:
Maximum Age 27 years for Lower Division Clerk, Civilian Motor Driver, Stenographer Grade II, Supervisor (Networking), Network Administrator, Hardware Administrator, Lineman, and Boat Builder.
- Maximum Age 25 years for Multi Tasking Staff and Technical Attendant – Printing Machine Operator.
Relaxation in Upper Age Limit (in years):
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years.
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years (15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBCs).
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Deduct full period of service plus 3 years if resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age by more than three years.
- Central Govt Employees (3+ years continuous service): Up to 40 years for General/EWS and 45 years for SC/ST.

Selection Process
- The process involves scrutiny of applications, after which eligible candidates will receive call letters for the written test.
- The written test will be based on the minimum educational qualification and will include: (i) General Intelligence and Reasoning, (ii) Numerical Aptitude, (iii) General English, (iv) General Awareness, and (v) Trade Specific subjects.
- The requisite number of candidates will be shortlisted and called for Skill/Physical Test (where applicable) based on merit/category in the written test.
- The written test/skill test is conducted atDSSC, Wellington.
